'Die Regentrude' (gekürzte Fassung) Eine Kunstmärchendichtung der Romantik von Theodor Storm (1817 – 1888) Gelesen von Irene Schier begleitet mit Werken von: Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Beethoven, Grieg ,Debussy und Mussorkgski am Klavier Cordula Weiss. Zu Irene Schier: Ihre Liebe zum gesprochenen Wort entdeckte die am 3.2.1958 geborene Irene Schier bereits mit 3 Jahren: Unter der Leitung der älteren Schwester: kam es zu ersten Auftritten im Elternhaus: in Der Froschkönig gab sie den Frosch und in Aschenputtel eine Taube.... Das geschriebene Wort verhalf ihr zu etwas mehr Popularität: mit 11 Jahren konnte sie den Vorlesewettbewerb der gymnasialen Mittelstufen der Stadt Bonn für sich entscheiden. Die beiden damals gewonnen Bücher bildeten den Grundstein ihrer Liebe zur Deutschen Literatur - und somit ihrer inzwischen umfangreichen Bibliothek. Seit ihrer Ankunft in Swakopmund im Jahre 1981 wurde Irenes Freude an Bühnenauftritten in anspruchsvollere Bahnen gelenkt: Irmela Erlank – Rethemeyer lies sie bei verschiedensten Produktionen des Kunstvereins mitwirken: als Schauspieler oder Rezitator. Mitte der 90er Jahre trat Irene dann auch mehrfach mit dem “swakopmunder– mach(t)-theater” auf, unter der Leitung von Heidemarie Rapmund.

The Namibia Scientific Society cordially invites you along with your family and friends to an interesting evening visit to the Cuno Hoffmeister Observatory just south of Windhoek. This excursion is ideal for those persons who would like to learn more about the wonders of the fantastic night sky in the Southern Hemisphere. The naked eye of the human being can only see a limited amount of stars, but with the aid of special equipment we will discover a total new “world in the sky”. To start off the evening, we will get an introduction of the Namibian night sky in the lecture hall. Afterwards different kinds of equipment will be available to our visitors to gaze at the stars. We will have the opportunity to warm ourselves up with tee or coffee. Discover the universe with us! We meet directly at the Cuno Hoffmeister Observatory just south of Windhoek, near the Harmony Centre. Arrival time: 16h00 Approx. duration: latest 20h30 Min. participants: 10 persons Max. participants: 25 persons Please contact us at the Namibia Scientific Society if you would need a lift to the observatory. Also dress yourself very warm, as it can get extremely cold in the mountains. We will spend most of the time outside. Shortly before you cross the first bridge, turn left onto the gravel road towards the Harmony Centre (you will observe a big sign board). Turn left again after you have driven approx. 2 km along the gravel road. Pass through the farm gate in the direction of the Harmony Centre. You will reach the Cuno Hoffmeister Observatory shortly after the turn off – approx. 300 m.
