The second Tulipamwe Empowerment Project
will be held from 15 to 29 August 2009 at
Okakarara, a rural village in north-eastern Namibia. A group of 20 Namibian and
international artists will work and live in this community and create artwork in the village in various media and formats, e.g. site-specific work, photography, video, painting, sculpture and printmaking. During the workshop five community artists from Okakarara will be invited to participate, thereby learning new skills.
Goethe-Centre/NaDS and FNCC are the main local sponsors of this workshop.
Following the workshop, a visual presentation will be given by the participants at the Goethe-Centre, while all artworks from the project will be exhibited at FNCC and Goethe-Centre from 1 September till 1 October 2009.
